ABOUT ABOUT

Sue Kuhn is an aide at Girard School District, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. After more than a year of treatment, the cancer continues to spread and require continued medical intervention. The cost of this is taking a toll on the family's finances, which is why we are hosting a fundraiser at Hunter Jack's in Girard to offset expenses and allow Sue to continue pursuing appropriate treatment.

Cost is $10 for meal (pizza, wings and dessert), and $15 for meal and "no-run poker" contest. Additional entries in the poker game can be purchased at $5 a hand, up to a total of three hands. There will also be a Chinese auction and other raffles. Purchase tickets by February 1st to receive 3 free doorprize tickets!

PLEASE NOTE that to buy entry into the no-run poker contest, you MUST BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE (purchase right here on this site!). State law does not allow these or 50/50s to be sold at the bar. 50/50s can be purchased in Girard at HS Computers, or in Fairview at Main Street Antiques or Simply Country . YOU CAN ALSO BUY MEAL/POKER TICKETS AT THESE LOCATIONS AND AVOID THE ONLINE TICKETING FEE! Other raffles and Chinese auction tickets WILL be available that day.

HOW TO PLAY "NO-RUN POKER"

This poker game will be organized much like a poker run, but without travel. Starting at roughly 2:30, each participant will randomly draw a card and mark it on a gameboard. Every half hour, each participant will draw a new card, until eventually they have built a "hand" of five cards. At that time, the judges will decide on the winning hand (according to standard poker rules). The winners will be announced near the end of the event (at approximately 6 p.m.) Participants who arrive late will be allowed to draw cards to "catch up", so that they will also end the night with five cards.

The prizes will be: 25% of the total "pot" (all money bet in the poker game) for first place; 15% for second place; and 10% for third place. In the event of a tie, the tying players will randomly draw a card. High card wins.
